I live in a small town, there is no water near my home, I didnt see any bugs they could have been feeding on! It was soo amazing! I seen birds flying above them too, maybe getting them a snack lol. Is it mating season for them? Its around 60 degress here in Illinois. I have never seen such a site!

Today I was walking my dog in North Carolina and I saw the strangest looking insect I have ever seen. It looked like a Dragonfly with a white tail, so I took pictures and looked it up online and found out it was a Common whitetail dragonfly. Up until today I had never seen or heard of them before.

So it got me thinking, are these things native to North Carolina? I know they are from Ohio but again I had never seen them in NC before.
